Well after another late start (stayed up listening to the band the night before and even had a little dance – all outside The Van !!!) and breky under the canopy – we set off on The Duke.
About 40 (breezy) minutes later, arrived at Arzon. Had a walk on the beach and a little sunbathe – lots of sailing ⛵️ stuff going on for Dave to watch – see below…
So Dave got fed upon on Saturday night by the mozzies (he says that because he’s on Warfarin that he’s easier to suck from !!!) ANYWAY – he said we should get some citronella garden candles from the supermarket but they didn’t have any – do he bought vanilla tea lights (against my advice – I hate vanilla) then said they needed to “smoke” and that would keep the mozzies away – so to make them “smoke” – he had poured cooking oil and dried mixed herbs !!! (See below).
Hasn’t worked – has been bitten again… xxx

It was hazy but hot today and we had a lie-in then late breky outside before a quick blast to town in The Duke then a little walk around the pretty gardens, the shops followed by a fab raspberry & custard tartlet ! Back at The Van now having crisps, dips & a Desparado – then BBQ 🍗 chicken for tea !!! (Will be 44 stone on my return)
Also The Arvor Festival is on for the next couple of days (want to see the fireworks in town tomorrow night – and everyone dresses up like The Handmaid’s Tale (!) and does dancing – maybe that’s why we’ve have just heard a band practicing on site here – so we may wander up to the Club House later – but we can hear them from here anyway !!!
A beer in one hand and his laptop in the other – sorting out all things techie !!!

Oooodles of yachts & boatey-type stuff – Paul would be in his element…
Found a cute little restaurant up a side street and I had THE best Caesar salad (with a poached egg & anchovies) and My Dave had Moules Marineres avec frites !!! Of course accompanied by a cheeky carafe of Muscadet – Bon Appetit !!!
Vannes actually dates back to Roman times but mostly it has a medieval feel…
Bit of culture – Dave liked the building and took a photie – no idea what it is – maybe the Town Hall…
Paul & Mick should remember this as they visited here back in May on their “man trip” – bit of triv for you – St Vincent is the patron saint of Vannes 😇
